About GMR Hyderabad air Cargo
Company is a joint venture company led by the GMR Group (63%), in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (13%), the Government of Telangana (13%), and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (11%). The GMR Group established GHIAL to design, finance, build, operate, and maintain a world-class Greenfield airport in Shamshabad, called Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad. The team inaugurated GHIAL on March 14, 2008, starting with a capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA) and the ability to handle 150,000 tons of cargo per annum.
Strategically located at the geographical center of India, GHIAL facilitates access to all major Indian cities within two hours of flying time. This airport is also well-positioned globally, within a five-hour radius of key cities in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Currently, 18 international and 3 Indian carriers operate from GHIAL, serving 18 international destinations and around 45 domestic destinations.
The cargo facility at GHIAL serves as a vital hub for South Central India’s supply chain. It features the largest modular integrated cargo facility, covering 14,330 square meters. The facility is equipped to handle temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, having been certified by Lufthansa Cargo as a key cargo hub in South Asia. GHIAL is also home to India’s first and only airport-based Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and Aerospace Park, positioning it as a logistics hub for India and the South Asia region.
